Ideal foods are in the green section.
Decent foods are in the blue section, but I'd personally recommend mixing with at least one green tier food.
Orange tier foods are lower quality, should they be fed, expect long term health issues and issues with odor/coat quality.
I'd recommend mixing with a higher tier food, or ideally, cutting out completely.
Red tier foods are NOT ferret suitable and should NOT be fed to ferrets.
Meat ingredients are listed in green
Fish ingredients are listed in blue
Grains/Fruits/Vegetables/Sweeteners are listed in red
Other ingredients, or ingredients which are awarded no points are listed in purple
Notes on the Pea Free Food Chart
This chart was created for those who would prefer to avoid any pea content in kibble. This includes foods with peas past the first 6 ingredients. None of the listed foods contain any peas.
Why avoid peas?
There is evidence to suggest that peas in food may lead to the formation of bladder stones in ferrets. This was seen frequently in ferrets fed the old formulation of Zupreem Grain Free, which had peas as the 3rd ingredient. As a result, some owners prefer to avoid peas in any amount.
